Spring surprises

Spring is the only season that I haven't really experienced yet in this house, so it's been kind of fun seeing what pops up outside. Especially all the flowers - I wasn't really expecting them.

The trees over our stream budded with white flowers:

The bushes by the driveway had some pretty yellow and pink flowers:

Of course the tree in the front yard has really started looking beautiful and not so scraggly:

And our other tree in the front yard had pink blossoms:

But this was the biggest surprise of all:

So pretty!

It beats me what all the names are of these trees and plants. And I have to admit that I don't really care. It's just fun to see them flowering after the winter made everything seem so dead.

But this is the prettiest thing around here:

That pretty pink bush is called bleeding heart. And the orange one is flowering quince. Looks like you have a fruit tree, too! =) What fun surprises.

Maybe some of your neighbors would know what you have. Especially the old neighbors, or ward members who live close to you. Find some old guy who would be happy to share his knowledge of local plants.

Wow, how gorgeous! You'll have to let me know how your grapevine looks this summer...maybe I can pick some leaves and make you some Lebanese stuffed grape leaves ;)
